singing cowboy Gene Autry. So they cast around for another handsome cowpoke.
Today they signed a would-be dentist from a vocal group called the Sons of the
Pioneers named Leonard Slye. He became a star with the film “Under Western
Skies” under his new name- Roy Rogers.
