1938- Max Fleischer Popeye cartoon
"With the Jeep" introduced Eugene the Jeep. The character was created
in the Thimble Theater comic strip two years earlier. The funny little
character later gave its name to the army’s new General Purpose Vehicle, the
G.P. or Jeep.
